Clarity Introduces New Personal Listening Device

Clarity Introduces New Personal Listening Device
Personal Listener Plus Brings Versatility to Hearing Loss Community

November 30, 2004 - Chattanooga, Tennessee

Chattanooga, TN - Clarity, a Division of Plantronics Inc. (NYSE:PLT), the nation's leading supplier of products for the hearing loss community, today introduced the Clarity Professional™ Personal Listener Plus (model PL100) - a lightweight, portable personal listening amplifier for people with varying degrees of hearing loss.

The Personal Listener Plus is the first product from the new Clarity Professional™ product line, which features hearing solutions designed specifically for the special needs community.

Containing a small omni-directional microphone and a comfortable earhook, the Personal Listener Plus is sleek and lightweight and amplifies incoming sounds up to 40db. By aiming the microphone in the direction from which a sound is emanating, this personal listening device improves sound quality and clarity.

The Personal Listener Plus is best used in one-on-one situations, in small group settings and when listening to television or music. The device, which is hearing aid compatible, can also be used in a professional environment, such as business meetings or small conferences. Ultimately, the user, whether stationary or on-the-go, can interpret and actively participate in conversations taking place in their vicinity.

"The Personal Listener Plus is very effective for regaining conversation clarity in personal and small group settings," said Carsten Trads, president of Clarity. "The device is easy to use and can adapt to numerous environments in which people with hearing loss have difficulty distinguishing incoming sounds. The adjustable technology coupled with the amplifier's user-friendly features makes it an ideal solution."

The device contains a handy Max Boost switch that enables the user to maximize the amplification of all incoming sounds. If the user prefers a more gentle amplification, they can utilize the AGC (Automatic Gain Control) setting, which reduces harshness and eliminates most background and feedback noise.

Light enough to be carried in a pocket, the Personal Listener Plus includes a carrying case, charger and extension cord for listening to TV or music. Simple controls make the device easily operated with one hand. The Personal Listener Plus works in conjunction with other hearing devices as well.

The Personal Listener Plus may be purchased online (www.clarityproducts.com) and through Clarity Certified Suppliers. Manufacturer's suggested retail price is $149.95. For more information about Clarity or Clarity Professional™ products, please visit www.clarityproducts.com or call 1-800-552-3368.
