Clarity Amplified Telephones Integrate 2.4GHz Technology
The C440 Takes Advantage of Latest Enhancements

November 2, 2004 - Chattanooga, Tennessee

Chattanooga, TN - Clarity, a Division of Plantronics Inc. (NYSE:PLT), the nation's leading supplier of products for the hearing loss community, introduces the first Clarity product to integrate 2.4GHz technology, the C440 - a lightweight, portable amplified telephone for people with varying degrees of hearing loss.

The integration of high-frequency 2.4GHz technology will offer enhanced clarity, reduced interference and increased range of movement to telephone users. The C440 will be made available through retail outlets on December 1st.

"All Clarity phones help customers with hearing impairment by making conversations not only louder, but clearer and easier to understand," said Carsten Trads, president of Clarity. "The new C440 adds additional benefits by integrating the latest technologies with up-to-date, functional features. Our goal is to stay at the forefront of the industry by embracing new technologies and providing enhanced experiences for our customers."

The C440 features several modifications specifically for those with hearing impairment: amplification of sound up to 30 decibels, adjustable ringer volume, bright visual ringer in base and handset to alert users to incoming calls, a large lighted dial pad, and hearing aid compatibility. In addition, the C440 features the latest telephone functions and options including: caller-ID with 50 number and name memory, a customizable handset ringer, one-touch emergency key, and redial, flash, mute, and page functions. The C440 includes a belt clip and a one year limited warranty.

The C440 is available through Hammacher Schlemmer stores and catalogs, online at www.clarityproducts.com and through Clarity Certified Suppliers. Manufacturer's suggested retail price is $179.95.
